Life Legacy
Kenneth L. Schwartz, 82, of Bluffton, died at 9:40 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at Christian Care Retirement Community.
Mr. Schwartz was born in Adams County on Oct. 12, 1927 to Joel and Sarah (Nussbaum) Schwartz. He married Elizabeth Bertsch in Bluffton on Dec. 11, 1949; she survives.
Mr. Schwartz served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a press man at E. P. Graphics Printing in Berne, and he also worked at Heyerly’s Market. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church.
Other surviving relatives include two sons, Jim Schwartz of San Diego and Jack (Diane) Schwartz of Bluffton; two daughters, Jean (Craig) Steffen of Ossian
and Joan (Greg) Gerber of Bluffton; two brothers, Howard (Beulah) Schwartz of Bluffton and Les (Sally) Schwartz of Berne; two sisters, Luella (Vernon) Geisel
of Keystone and Mildred Schladenhauffen of Bluffton; and 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Schwartz was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Sandy Schwartz, and two great-grandsons, Gabriel Schwartz and Taylor Maller.
Calling hours will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton and from 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Apostolic Christian Church
East. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the Christian Care Retirement Community.
